What we are

powerabode is not a consultancy. It is a commercial-systems company - the doctrine of the integrated supply chain, productised, and embedded in AI that operates inside the client's own environment.

Our partners are the senior management of large oil and gas assets - upstream and downstream - and of the extractive industries at large, mining included. Operating those assets takes massive complexity, organisation and cost; the supply chain and its contracts connect everything - the central pivot of cost efficiency. People forget the scale of spend in these industries. Yet it is the basis of our economies: without it, the world would be a silent place.

Outsiders from the inside

Built by people who ran these processes inside the majors - the tenders, the contract models, the cost programs - and who now sit on the client's side of the table. The doctrine is not researched; it is remembered, and rebuilt as systems.

From the start of this business the aim was asymmetric impact: to make a difference, and to embrace technology as the tool that scales and guarantees quality delivery. An original approach and philosophy is the basis of our business - and we were inspired by Dr Sultan Al Jaber of ADNOC, who made the aim of cost efficiency a central element of our value proposition. AI now unlocks that proposition to a far larger audience and user group. We are in an exciting era, much like the industrial revolution 150 years ago - and in all its shapes and forms, energy is central to it."

That is where I wanted to work, and I did: in the Netherlands, across Europe, and eventually in the Middle East, heading supply chain, contracting and procurement. My vision followed the integrated supply chain - a dynamic environment, the spider in the web of a top-quartile energy company. Cost efficiency and value improvement, delivered to the bottom line: that was my driver. With my team I won the CFO award for offshore cost optimisation, and developed that skillset further in Iraq. Fast forward to today: those ways of work are translated into systems, driven by the philosophy of Cost & Value Intelligence, developed in-house - and now incorporated into AI solutions.
